Heart health takes center stage at an empowering community lecture, hosted by the Women’s Fund of The Shelby Foundation on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the Shelby Community and Senior Center from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. The event is free for members of 100+ Women for Shelby and $15 for guests. RSVPs are requested by Tuesday, July 22.
Sue Ann Payne, a 2023 heart attack survivor, is leading the charge to raise awareness and educate women on the signs, risks, and recovery process related to heart disease. Passionate about equipping others with knowledge that could save lives, Payne will share her personal journey and encourage women to advocate for their health.
Joining the discussion is a distinguished panel of heart health experts from OhioHealth Mansfield, specializing in cardiomyopathy, coronary artery disease, hypertension, and high blood pressure:
- Dr. Jennifer Dickerson – A leader in advanced cardiac imaging, Dr. Dickerson serves as the practice lead physician at OhioHealth Mansfield Heart and Vascular and is the Echo Lab Director.
- Kerri Endicott, RN – A dedicated Nighttime Registered Nurse in the CVICU, Kerri is pursuing her MSN in Education and has spent her entire career in healthcare.
- Shelby McGarvey, MS, ACSM-CEP – With a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology, Shelby is a certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist who has worked in cardiac rehabilitation for four years. She also trains clients at the OhioHealth Ontario Wellness Center.
This educational event offers practical, actionable information for women of all ages and is a unique opportunity to hear directly from medical professionals and a survivor’s firsthand experience.
