Frequently Asked Questions: Annual Fall Fundraiser
There is quite the buzz about the Foundation’s upcoming fundraiser but a few questions have been posed. Listed are some of the most frequently asked questions for the September 19th event.
Who or what does this fundraiser benefit?
The proceeds from An Evening with The Shelby Foundation: For a Brighter Tomorrow will provide the Foundation unrestricted funds that will be used to benefit our community and its residents. Last year, The Shelby Foundation awarded over $350,000 in grants to Shelby area non-for-profits and scholarships to graduating Shelby seniors.
Is the fundraiser going to be held at the Kehoe Center this year?
This year’s event will look a little different. Mindful of the current pandemic, and the importance of keeping everyone safe and healthy, the fundraiser will not be held at the Kehoe Center but instead will be a hybrid event. The Foundation encourages the community to support this important event how and where they feel most comfortable.
Virtual Bidding
A large draw for many supporters is the silent and live auctions. Using an online platform, everyone will have the ability to bid and support the Foundation from the comfort of their own home.
Host Parties
Community members will host watch parties. As ambassadors for the Foundation, they will host an experience at their home that would mimic as if you were attending the event in person. Enjoy food, drinks, and camaraderie with friends and family while bidding and supporting the Foundation.
I’m a picky eater, will there be a large food selection?
If you are hosting a party or attending one, you won’t be disappointed by the selection of food. The Vault Wine Bar will be catering the parties and their vittles are yummy!
This sounds expensive. Can I afford it? What do the tickets cost?
It does not cost anything to log on to our online auction. It is free to look but no doubt you’ll want to do more than just “window shop.” There is a fantastic selection of silent auction baskets, super silent packages, and, of course, 50/50 raffle tickets. You can get a jumpstart on your Christmas shopping!
I’m NOT tech savvy? Will it be hard to bid?
Absolutely not. The Shelby Foundation has partnered with One Cause, and online charity platform, and they know how to keep things simple. The Foundation will broadcast the bidding site through social media, website, and if we have your cell number, we can even text you a link. Easy Peasy! And if you get confused the night of the event, we will be available to help by calling 419-342-3686.
I want to give to The Shelby Foundation, but I can’t participate on September 19th; will you take my money?
Yes.
Still have questions? Call Carrie Kemerer at 419-342-3686 for more information.
SO, HOW DOES THIS WORK? WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?
This year, our entire auction is online through a charity auction site, One Cause. It’s easy to sign in/register, bid, and checkout. When you sign in/register, you will be able to bid on silent auction items and premier items, purchase raffle tickets, and donate. You’ll also be able to receive text notifications once you have registered on the online platform for easy bidding and updates.
You will sign in to the auction site with your email, Facebook or Google account.
