SHELBY, OHIO — Members of the 100+ Women for Shelby gathered Monday evening at the Shelby Community & Senior Center for their annual End-of-Year Celebration, recognizing the impact of collective giving and kicking off the group’s 2027 membership drive.

The evening brought members together to hear firsthand from local nonprofit organizations whose programs and services have benefited from Women’s Fund grants. Nicki Strome of Cedarbrae and Brenda Foley of the Down Syndrome Association of Northeast Ohio shared how support from the Women’s Fund has positively impacted their organizations and the individuals and families they serve.

In recognition of their continued efforts, each organization was awarded an additional $1,000 grant that evening to support its programming, further demonstrating the Women’s Fund’s commitment to making a meaningful difference in the community.

Established in 2018, the 100+ Women for Shelby began with a simple idea: bring together 100 women, each contributing $100 annually, to make a meaningful difference in their community.

What began as an ambitious goal has grown into a giving circle of more than 200 annual members. Together, members have awarded over $50,000 in grants to local nonprofit organizations.

Beyond grantmaking, the 100+ Women for Shelby provides opportunities for members to build friendships, attend educational lectures, participate in social gatherings, and connect through a shared commitment to strengthening their community.

The group’s 2027 membership drive is now underway, and The Shelby Foundation is matching up to $10,000 in memberships received through December 31, 2026.

Annual memberships are $100, and new members are encouraged to join the growing community of women making a difference together.
